First Consultation
We discuss what you'd like to see on your property and how you plan to use your yard.
I show you my Portfolio and describe different styles of landscape, plant palettes and choices in hardscape construction.
Hardscape may include components like patios, pathways, retaining walls and steps.
I ask your budget for the project so I can design a landscape that you can afford to install and maintain.

A landscape is more than a collection of plants. A landscape provides a frame 'round your house. Your landscape should enhance your home, reflect your style and provide you with outdoor rooms for for play, parties or peaceful retreat.
A landscape that meets those goals is created through
thoughtful planning and artistic vision. It requires a
comprehensive Landscape Design Plan showing all
components of this custom made project.
These components are
Site preparation, including grading and drainage
Hardscape, such as patios, pathways, and walls
Plants, chosen to thrive on the site
Irrigation systems and drainage
Accents, such as lighting, fountains or pots.
I create Landscape Designs in several distinctive styles, chosen to suit your taste and your budget.
California Native Plants
Rock Gardens
Cottage Gardens
Mediterranean Landscape
Container Gardens
Edible Landscape
Japanese Courtyard
Those first two styles are drought tolerant, the others require moderate irrigation. All these styles are
sustainable landscapes, reducing maintenance,
and preserving the environment.
But here is the best part: my Landcape Designs look
like fine art. Each design is a cohesive composition
of color and form, one giant painting, surrounding
your home in seamless serenity.

Second Consultation
We meet again to discuss the Concept Drawing.
We can make changes to it, if desired.
Once you accept the Concept Drawing, perhaps with minor changes, I can then tell you the cost of the of Design Plan Drawings, which are much more detailed.
Typically, the final Design Plan is twice the cost of the Concept drawing.

Concept Drawing
After our first consultation, I can prepare a Concept Drawing to show you the Landscape Design Plan that I am suggesting.
I measure your property, take photos, and determine the soil type.
I then draw a Site Plan and prepare a a colored illustration of the Landscape Design that I am proposing.
We meet again to review this Concept to make sure you like it, before I proceed to the detailed Design Plan Drawing.

|
|
Design Plan Drawings
At our third meeting I deliver the finished Landscape Design Plan Drawings.
This Design Plan is usually three pages that show all components of the landscape:hardscape, irrigation, and planting plan.
These detailed Design Plan Drawings
make it easy for a Landscape Contractor
to first prepare a bid and then to do the
job for you.
I provide two copies of the Design Plan, so you can keep one to use as your Owner's Manual for future maintenance.
